What Would Cause A Refrigerator To Stop Getting Cold?
The temperature control is one of the first things to look at if your fridge is not getting cold. This can usually be found on either the top of your fridge or the internal wall.
If your fridge is not getting as cold as you would like it to be, it might be that you’ve simply knocked the temperature control when you have been getting something out of your fridge.
If you adjust the control, your fridge should start getting cold to the required temperature.
However, if the temperature control has not been adjusted, then there could be a fault with the fridge thermostat, and it may need to be replaced.

Freezer not cold enough. Defrost system problems, dirty condenser coils, fan failures, leaky door gaskets, or control problems can lead to your freezer not getting cold enough. The frost buildup blocks cooling air paths through the evaporator so the freezer doesn’t cool well.
Built-in refrigerators are almost always worth repairing. Not only are they less expensive to repair but typically have a longer lifespan anyways.
When your refrigerator is too warm you know it. Food spoils too quickly. Odours occur more readily. Your drinks aren’t icy cold when you open them.
Warm food or a defrosting freezer are the obvious signs a refrigerator is malfunctioning. Check for power lights on the water or ice dispenser if the refrigerator is so equipped. Open the doors and check for lights inside. Listen for sounds of the fan running.
If your appliance is maintained efficiently, you could expect a fridge freezer lifespan of at least 10 years
Typical causes are:

2) the condenser coils need cleaning
3) the door doesn’t seal against the refrigerator box
4) the cold control is set too cold
5) something is blocking the flow of cold air inside the fridge.
According to the UK food standards agency the ideal fridge temperature for food is 8°C and below. Taking into account the temperature drop from the opening and closing of the fridge door the fridge should be set at a temperature between 1-5°C.
Too much food in the fridge can block the freezer vents causing your refrigerator motor and condenser to work harder than they need to do. If you cause your refrigerators condensers to get clogged there would be an increased amount on your electricity bill due to the added work that will be imposed on your freezer.
